05-09-2013: ChoBaby Doodlin'

I've been doing a lot of work for my thesis film, Falls, lately, so not a lot of time for doodlin'. But I took a moment today to pop out this quick little sketch of my derpy kitty, Cho Cho.

3-27-2013: St. Grumpy

A friend cried out for help: "Dear Internet: We need a painting of Grumpy Cat in the style of a saintly icon. People with artistic skills, MAKE IT HAPPEN! I have no artistic skills, otherwise I would."

He posted this reference image, which you can find here.

and I can't seem to find the original artist.
Please let me know if anyone knows who it's from!)

3-6-2013: Disney-fied!

2-18-13: So much for that late work night.

Came to Monty to work. Put my shots through triage. Got all set up with to do lists. Realized I forgot my scripts at home. Drove my hard drive back to get them. Came back to Monty. Without my hard drive. And then I did this. Time for bed!

I'm in a Sketch Jam group on Facebook. It's a great way to learn, to get inspired, and to connect with some of my fabulously talented peers! A friend, Jenn Thompson, asked the group for a sketch that she could color, so I whipped this up in a bit of free time - Julussa with her loyal ugly:

3-16-12: Little Women

I've been reading Little Women for the first time - loving it. I'm almost done, and a little sad - it's one of those books that has become a good friend.

A quick warm up sketch, very stiff, and a shamefully lazy gradient background - but fun. My beloved Jo.

I've been reading Soulless by Gail Carriger, a Christmas gift from a friend. She goes into such detail in regards to the fashion of the time, it's hard not to get excited about bustles and bonnets. Here's a little research sketch:

1-19-12: Music and Pups

I have a pretty strong love of music, especially that which digs right down and wraps its words around your heart. Music that's so good it almost hurts.... Music that, well, music that makes me do this.

I also love my parent's beagle, Savannah. We got Savannah when she was 3 years old - she came with her name. That was a while ago - long before I even knew there was an art school in Savannah, let alone that I'd live there one day! Talk about serendipity.
